L01 Diego Kuffer

Diego Kuffer
Genre: Diego Kuffer is a cubist genre photographer.

Purpose: The purpose of Kuffer's work is to be creative and unique in comparison to other photographs, from say other photographers as this is what cubism offers, as the images are in general edited in a different, more unique way. The purpose is of course as well to show a reflection of Hockney's creativity in his work/photography, as this is art/photography is a reflection of the person, of course

Image Analysis: After analyzing some of Kuffer's images, I can again infer that they are very unique, as for example, in the first example image, I placed below, you can see that, the image is a typical city, street which appears to have been sliced up in multiple directions in order to give it a glitch-like effect.

This cubist effect was most likely done on the program, Adobe Photoshop. I can also infer that the image  stands out to other photographers, photographs. The image also has elements of futurism as it looks almost as if it has a futuristic, glitch effect.

For the second image in which I analysed, I can infer that it appears to have a very vivid set of colors and it is arranged with a grid of squares, which is again a cubist effect. The colors also show that the image has elements of futurism, as the purple for example gives it that surreal look.

Meaning
The meaning of this photography is of course to reflect how the artist sees the world, as art/photography is of course connected to the actual photographer/artist and their perspective on the world.

Diego Kuffer is a Brazilian cubist photographer, He has throughout his career has hosted 4 different presentations.
The purpose of his work is to have cubist looking effects on natural street photography.
I really like Diego Kuffer’s style of work as it is a pixelated form of cubist art, which is very creative and comes off very nicely He usually takes several snapshots of the same scene, slices them up horizontally and vertically and then assembles

He has created around 4 different presentations which range from 2010 to 2013
His made his latest project set around memories in which he would put together several photos because it gives the photos a broken up effect. This is a metaphor for the memories as memories can appear pure but broken up in some places. While at university he majored in business and post graduated in psychoanalytic - semiotic then worked in marketing for 10 years before finally becoming a photographer in 2010.

After analysing his photos I can infer that he likes to use cubism photographic technique a lot which is the process in which you take lots of photos of the same thing at different angles and then cut and layer the photos over another image , as the purpose is to create a very unique, cubist photograph. I also saw on many of his photos, Kuffer using the leading lines technique which helps draw the audience’s attention to the image. I like this image as although it’s just a normal public place, Kuffer’s cubism effects have made it look so appealing, which really gives us an insight of Kuffer’s overall creativity.

I like this type of photography from Kuffer also as although it is just a standard merry-go-round, he has added cubism which in this situation gives it a motion blurred and pixelated effect which comes off really well, and looks surreal in some aspects.

Overall I really think Kuffer’s work is very unique compared to other photographers and even other cubist photographers which just show how much of a creative photographer he really is, and how well he can make normal public scenarios in many aspects, actually look appealing to the audience.
